Nikolas Papalos
Nikolas Papalos graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, obtaining a First Class Honours Bachelor of Engineering Degree. He continued his studies at University College London (UCL) obtaining his Master of Science Degree sponsored by the British Ministry of Defence. He was the recipient of the 1996 RCNC Ship Design Prize for the UK MoD. He worked in a number of managerial positions in the private sector. He had the determination and vision to fully upgrade and modernize a local company, enabling it to produce and distribute high tech products, under international license from the leading world companies in the sector. Building on his acquired experience, he worked in the EU as a consultant at a newly formed company which had the target to become a global player. His experience in the private sector proved valuable in his later career at the public sector. After achieving the highest score in the overall evaluation procedure he was appointed in 2020 as General Manager of Paphos Sewerage Board. In 2022 he was additionally appointed by the provisional council for the reform of the local government as project manager for the establishment of Paphos district local government organization. His vision is, through the current reform of the local government, all citizens to enjoy quality-driven, environmentally friendly and cost effective services.
