Andros G. Karayiannis is from Deryneia. He studied German and English Literature at the University of Leipzig in Germany. He also studied English and French Language and Literature at the University of Leeds (UK) and at the University of Metz (France). He obtained a postgraduate degree in International Relations and European Studies from the University of Nicosia.

 

He graduated from the Cyprus School of Tourist Guides and is an accredited tour guide for English, French and German. He has worked as a teacher of English and German in private and public schools. He had worked as an MP Assistant for three years.

 

In 2011 he was elected as a Mayor of Deryneia, and he was re-elected in 2016. He is the Chairman of Kokkinochoria Sewage System Board and a member of the European Committee of the Regions.
